American Dakota's core rugs are made from premium nylon, manufactured in American Dakota’s exclusive EnduraStran construction which is integrated in the manufacturing process. The EnduraStran yarn system is fade resistant, antimicrobial and commercial grade tested for heavy traffic. The yarn cleans easily with hot water eliminating the harmful effects of chemicals.

American Dakota uses an automated computer lab to mix colors, which are actually dyes, to ensure perfect color matching. The rugs are made from a state of the art computer system so the colors can be produced consistently and will always be in-stock so to speak. Because of its receptacles and color fastness nylon is the preferred base for our patented color application. The color formulas are integrated into the design file which ensures the rugs will always be 100% consistent no matter how much time has passed between orders. American Dakota has built an Americana color pallet of earth tones and colors found in the Southwest & mountain homes, these formulas are protected and ensure a much needed interjection of color in today’s stale rug lines. Typically importers are forcing American looks into European creels, which translate to an industry selling many collections in the same tired colors.

Nylon is the strongest yarn available. Polypropylene or olefin yarn will crush under distress & can break. Nylon is so strong it’s in things like lariat rope used in rodeos by champion calf ropers. It’s the perfect resilient yarn that can take the abuse.
